Description
Death is very easy to come across in games, and is especially damaging in Cardinal Quest II and other roguelikes. This is as in roguelikes, your character only has one life, and you have to fully restart once you die. This is similar to roguelites, the only difference being they (roguelites) let you keep some items or upgrades when you die.
Kinds of Deaths
There are many kinds of deaths in Cardinal Quest II, as in any other game. Listed below are the deaths that can happen.
Death by:
Enemies are the most common cause for death, with a whopping [percentage]% of deaths being caused by them. The top three most common enemies to die to are [enemy 1], [enemy 2] and [enemy 3].
Goofing is an unofficial word (dubbed by the CQ2 Discord server*) for dying to an enemy's attack, not realising that it would deal fatal damage. The most common enemies to die to this are Ogres, Dragonlings and Cockatrices. Goofing also applies when you don't think an enemy's attack will land, but does and kills you in the process.
Terrain is a bit of an odd case. This is because dying from the terrain is difficult. Not because they are terribly dangerous, but are rather rare. The most prominent case of terrain dealing damage is Xiatol's fire breath. It lights the ground on fire, dealing 3 damage every turn you're on a tile with fire on it.
You can die from Gravity by falling into a pit. There are a few ways to do this, as listed below:
